OROZCO-ROCHA, Karina  e  GONZALEZ-GONZALEZ, César. Family Involvement in And Feminization of Care Work Versus Paid Work in Mexico. Debate fem. [online]. 2021, vol.62, pp.117-141.  Epub 05-Maio-2023. ISSN 2594-066X.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cieg.2594066xe.2021.62.2276.

This paper discusses the relevance of welfare regimes based on family involvement in and feminization of care in the face of the disadvantages associated with paid work in Mexico. Using data from the National Time Use Survey (2014) and the National Employment and Social Security Survey (2013 and 2017), the author presents indicators showing the persistence of these processes in Mexico. In addition, empirical evidence is compiled on their disadvantages vis-à-vis paid work (exclusion, lack of protection and economic disadvantage). The article concludes that the public agenda must advance beyond gender equality, and involve institutions in the social reorganization of care, through the market or the state, by providing greater recognition and direct social security benefits for those engaged in care work.
