IZQUIERDO SANCHEZ, Ernesto. Overview of film production in Cuba during the context of Covid-19. Rev. panam. comun. [online]. 2022, vol.4, n.1, pp.98-106.  Epub 27-Jun-2022. ISSN 2683-2208.  https://doi.org/10.21555/rpc.v4i1.2555.

The appearance of Covid-19 imposed a global challenge on the dynamics of life of human beings. The local work of the Seventh Art would suffer the same fate as the great monopolies of audiovisual entertainment by experiencing new challenges in the modes of production. In this sense, the cinematographic creation in Cuba was not exempt from reinventing itself in its routines with the particularities of the context. Added to the material shortages involved in maintaining production in an underdeveloped country was the crisis unleashed by the coronavirus. On the other hand, the closure of the few movie theaters in operation would motivate the use of diffusion methods that were already being used with the changes in consumption habits. From then on, social networks would serve as an intermediary between the public and the audiovisual. Due to the above, this essay aims to analyze the panorama of the film industry on the island during the pandemic, with the aim of addressing the context and development experienced by Cuban cinema.
