This article makes a qualitative approach to the audiences of university women of cinema on digital platforms in the city of Aguascalientes. Its main purpose is to retrieve their appropriation of the visual narratives and to observe their perception of the current panorama of media coloniality and data colonization. This research inquiries about stereotypes, roles, and aspirational gender models represented in the cinematographic material, as well as the opening to a new political position as spectators and users of other forms of exhibition than in a film theatre.
