PEREZ-CAMPUZANO, Enrique. Urban Sociospatial Segregation. Contemporary Debates and Implications for Mexican Cities. Estud. demogr. urbanos [online]. 2011, vol.26, n.2, pp.403-432. ISSN 2448-6515.  https://doi.org/10.24201/edu.v26i2.1388.

Even though, sociospatial segregation is a common topic in sociology or geography, in Mexico there are few studies on the topic in Mexico. This can due to the lack of a clear theoretical background of the concept and/or the lack of specific data for measure it. In this paper an approximation to the concept is presented, specifically to both the theoretical and empirical construction of the concept. Also, a research agenda for the Mexican cities is presented.

Palavras-chave : sociospatial segregation; urban segregation; mexican cities; racial segregation; housing segregation; closed neighborhoods; segregation measurement.
