GONZALEZ CHEVEZ, Lilián. El proceso terapéutico en la medicina tradicional mexicana. Algunas claves para su interpretación. Nueva antropol [online]. 2017, vol.30, n.86, pp.9-34. ISSN 0185-0636.

This essay deals with the role that the therapeutic process plays in traditional Mexican medicine with respect to the performance act whose discursive activity, paraphernalia and concrete body practices contribute to repositioning a certain social drama by way of ritualized and narrativized corrective social actions within a sacred context. The latter maintains its effectiveness in order to provide form and meaning to episodes of illness. Through this ritual performance a wide range of technical, expressive and symbolic actions whose socially shared codes act as organizing grammar for the reconstitution of the world are brought into play.

Palavras-chave : traditional medicine; Mexico; therapeutic process; performance ritual.
