Eduardo Báez discusses the work of artist Otto Dix, who experienced the horrors of life in the trenches during the First World War. Taking advantage of the exhibition staged at the Ex Archbishopric (Mexico City, 1999), the catalogue produced by Eugen Keuerleber and extensive readings on topics associated with the war and militias, the author highlights the parallels between Remarque and Dix.
