STROBER, Myra H.. Feminist economics and the concepts of value, efficiency, scarcity, selfishness, and competition: implications for education. Inv. Econ [online]. 2001, vol.61, n.236, pp.77-91. ISSN 0185-1667.
This article basically answers the question: What is feminist economics? According to the authoress, Feminist Economics challenges many of the basic concepts of mainstream economics, for example, value, efficiency, scarcity and the omnipres ence of selfishness. Although the main interest of feminist economics is to improve the economic situation of women and girls, it has developed various significant secondary products. Its criticism of the theory and methodology underpinning main stream economics, has been a powerful factor in the transformation of the teaching of economics and of postgraduate education in the United States.
