Argentina’s considerable increase in unemployment in recent years, a process anchored decades in the past, has spurred social scientists to renewed theoretical and political interest in the "quality" of Argentina’s democracy and the issue of citizenship. The particular configuration that the latter has taken on in relation to the formal labor market and the way in which democracy was understood make us think about how we should understand the new forms of political action that have emerged in Argentina.
