ROMERO GALLARDO, Michelle Vyoleta. Transitions from Otherness to We-ness in Ritual and Post-ritual Classification Social Systems. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2016, vol.31, n.89, pp.69-92. ISSN 2007-8358.

This article deals with four theoretical constructs for analyzing the transition from otherness to we-ness in the classification system with which societies are built. It discusses explanatory models of the polarity between the other and us by means of a path that has ritual as its starting point, goes through the social drama to arrive at the post-ritual. Along the way, another outstanding feature is the evolution of readings that span from the non-agent to the mutual implication of agency and structure in the creation, transmission, and break with classification systems. In this discussion, the author uses arguments form Emile Durkheim, Victor Turner, May Douglas, and Jeffrey Alexander.
