Narration as a cultural product is influenced by the culture of the narrator. Therefore, to analyze and understand the phenomena and situations that are narrated, the cultural context in which they originated and developed must be taken into account. This research analyzes whether, and to what extent, talking about violence serves the survivor as a means of empowerment in the medium-long term and to the listener as a key to access her socio-cultural context, exploring places and socio-cultural phenomena where the dynamics of violence originate and are reproduced in the Afro-descendant communities of the Oaxacan Costa Chica.
