DUBET, François. ¿Por qué parece imposible reformar el sistema escolar francés?.Traduzido porPatricia Ducoing,  Bertha Fortoul. RMIE [online]. 2007, vol.12, n.32, pp.109-126. ISSN 1405-6666.

For more than twenty years, France’s political life has been marked by important mobilizations of teachers and students opposed to the attempted reforms of the educational system. This article supports the hypothesis that the opposition to reform corresponds less to a defense of teachers’ material interests than to ideological and symbolic postures that uphold the model of schools of the French Republic. This model, the embodiment of nation, reason, progress, and social mobility, is being threatened and overcome by the social transformations of today’s world -transformations that make new demands on both schools and teachers.

Palavras-chave : teachers’ movements; educational reform; secondary education; socialization processes; France.
