GARCIA ALCARAZ, Jorge Luis  e  ROMERO GONZALEZ, Jaime. Subjective Evaluation of the Attributes that Engineers Consider as Requirements for Administrative Positions: A Study in In-bond Plants in Ciudad Juarez. RMIE [online]. 2011, vol.16, n.48, pp.195-219. ISSN 1405-6666.

The objective of this study was to identify the main factors that engineers consider to be requirements for filling administrative positions in in-bond plants. The study also viewed the relations among such factors. The factors were identified through an exploratory factor analysis, while the relations among factors were determined by structural equations. The participants were 271 engineers working in in-bond plants in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, who responded to a survey of twenty attributes. The questionnaire was validated through the Cronbach Alpha index. The factor analysis defined five factors related to organizational knowledge, tertiary qualifications, academic experience and knowledge, manufacturing skills, and process technologies. The models of structural equations were validated by chi-square to degrees of freedom (CMIN/DF), the goodness of fit index (GFI), the comparative fit index (CFI), and the root mean square residual (RMSR). According to these criteria, the final proposed model shows adequate fit with the empirical data.
