LLORENT-BEDMAR, Vicente  e  LLORENT-VAQUERO, Mercedes. Integration and interpersonal relationships of moroccan immigrant students of compulsory secondary education in Andalusia (Spain). Pap. poblac [online]. 2017, vol.23, n.91, pp.9-38. ISSN 2448-7147.  https://doi.org/10.22185/24487147.2017.91.002.

The current Spanish society is characterized by an abundance of immigrants and recently by emerging migration. The importance of the Moroccan community in Andalusia (Spain) is an incentive to contributing to their better integration. It is interesting to establish the degree of integration in society and interpersonal relationships. We have used a qualitative methodology with quantitative data, carrying out a stratified sampling to study Moroccan students of compulsory secondary education (ESO). Their life has changed significantly in Spain. However, although we judge that it is important to maintain their customs and traditions, they are immersed in a constant process of assimilation of cultural and social norms for the host society. The most common problems are culture clash, language difficulties, family-school relationships and school segregation.
