This text intends to reveal the relations of the brazilian army despotism and the rise of the cultural industry in the 20th century. Although the globalization is the category that explains this process, cultural and national idiosyncrasies remain as a legacy for the political actions, even when it means a change of political legitimacy models, now based on the discursive forms of the media rather than traditional rhetorical strategies. And this new rationalization of the social contents has been maked up throughout the dictatorship era.
