NAVAR-CHAIDEZ, José de Jesús  e  DOMINGUEZ-CALLEROS, Pedro Antonio. Growth and yield models: examples and applications for mild-weather mexican forests. Rev. mex. de cienc. forestales [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.18, pp.8-27. ISSN 2007-1132.

Growth projections and performance are crucial to the sustainable management of forest ecosystems. This paper presents estimates of growth and yield of temperate zone tree stands as a basis for strategic planning sustainable forest, and a set or system of environmental measurements of these ecosystems. Methods and forms are used to calculate the sustainable growth and yields at three levels: full stands, kinds of trees and individual trees. The data used for calibration and validation of models of permanent monitoring plots, chronosequence and stem analyzes of species and temperate forests. Include modeling techniques and performance models to increase regular forests, models based on the assumption of irregularity, where time is more important than the age of the trees based on recovery models and prediction of Weibull distribution parameters, projection matrix models diameter classes, and models based on the absence of age for individual trees. Mathematical methods were developed expressly. Also be used to increase and performance equations contained in Mexican literature. The new models are essential tools once you have collected the necessary data sources permanent monitoring sites, and have been applied to the development of forestry practices in order to meet the requirements of the new trends of forest management.

Palavras-chave : Independent from distance individual trees; tree classes; chronosequences; Weibull distribution; matrixes; full-stand models.
