RODRIGUEZ OROZCO, Arlet. Belonging and resistance: intersections of the ethics and aesthetics of noble, collective subjectivity. Intersticios sociales [online]. 2017, n.14, pp.35-76. ISSN 2007-4964.

Determining precisely what happens in subjects as they go through significant social processes constitutes an enigma for psychological and neuroscientific studies. Since these processes are multidimensional and manifested in the collective, their analysis presents theoretical challenges for disciplinary integration. This study thus addresses the theoretical crossroads that arises between ethics and aesthetics in reference to manifestations of resistance and belonging produced in relation to six musical works. The objective is to discuss certain propositions that will allow collaboration in constructing a reflective framework. The musical selections begin with “Va, pensiero” (Solera and Verdi, 1842), followed by “Do you hear the people sing?” (Schönberg, 1979), L’Internationale (Pottier, 1871 and Degeyter, 1888), Le déserteur (Vian and Berg, 1954), and Non, je ne regrette rien (Vaucaire, and Dumont, 1956), concluding with Here’s to you (Morricone, 1971). This reflection is based on a poetic narrative that permits the presentation -after an initial analysis of keys of signification- of seven propositions that introduce the study of resistance and belonging through a theoretical ethical-aesthetic dialog. The main motivation of this work arose while rethinking the ethical link of the aesthetic musical condition and the possibilities that this could represent for social construction. Resistance and belonging are conceived as metaphors of the ethical-aesthetic bridge and political relief as reflected in artistic expression.
