This research was conducted in bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis mexicana) to assess the ecological sustainability of selective hunting in UMA registered in Sonora, Mexico; considered as a variable score antlers. In this research hunted animal specimens under two management schemes were used: extensive management (free living) and intensive management (protected with special perimeter fences). Data were analyzed using linear regression method, t-student test, cluster analysis of two-strokes and a classification system using k-means algorithm. Although the t test did not show significant differences (p > 0.05), the results show that in predicting hunts, intensive UMA tend to be highest (4253 antler points and 1647 error points). Comparing management schemes, cluster analysis indicated that cluster 1 rated as UMA Quality 10 was the best, which grouped the UMA known as Tiburón Island as the only representative of the extensive management. In contrast, the group 10 ranked as UMA Quality 1 included the bighorn sheep which were the worst evaluated; it had also seven representatives; six of them were in UMA under extensive management (Big Horn Safari, El Cimarron, Hueverachi, Faldas de la Sierra del Viejo, Los Mochos, Puntas de Sirios) and only one was under intensive management (El Sacrificio). Analysis of antlers classification shows that bighorn sheep hunted scores in Sonora reached 180.0742 ± 5.91 points.
