Mexico. Veracruz. Municipality of San Andrés Tuxtla: Hotel La Escondida (18.44824°N, 95.21014°W; WGS 84; 295 m elev.). 27 February 2022. C. I. G. and I. T. A.C. Verified by Luis Canseco-Márquez. A photo voucher of the individual was deposited in The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (LACM PC 2901; Fig.1). First record for the municipality, which extends the known distribution of this invasive species approximately 70 km (airline) to the SE from the closest reported locality at Municipality of Alvarado (UTADC 9407; García-Vinalay et al., 2020; Fig. 2), and it also fills a gap in the known distribution of approximately 146.5 km between the Alvarado locality and localities in the Municipio de Minatitlán, and the Municipio de Cosoleacaque (CARIE-1281; García-Vinalay et al., 2020). The frog was found at 1200 h while we were moving a mound of rocks on the hotel grounds. It is worth mentioning that additional citizen observations of this species exist near Lake Catemaco on the iNaturalist platform (https://www.inaturalist.org; observations/109201820; observations/105379580), thus the species may be more widely distributed in the "Los Tuxtlas" region.
