CASTANEDA, Ángel A.. Bank without Porfirian Concession in the State of Veracruz (1897-1910). Am. Lat. Hist. Econ [online]. 2022, vol.29, n.3, e1269. Epub 10-Fev-2023. ISSN 2007-3496. https://doi.org/10.18232/20073496.1269.
The aim of this article is to identify the credit institutions that operated in the state of Veracruz during the porfiriato in order to widen the historiographical position that sustains the typical presence of only three banking institutions in the states. We start from the hypothesis that as a result of the weak regulation in banking matters, the porfirian institutional framework was unable to regulate all credit institutions; consequently, a number of credit institutions operated without concession. Likewise, we will carry out a brief exploration of the development of banks without concession, which were outside the banking regulation of the General Law of Credit Institutions of 1897.
