It shows the case of expulsion of an indigenous group of communal land in the Sierra Madre Occidental which shows the depth of the changes that occur in religious conversion is presented, as denying the underlying arguments in the ancestral tradition involves des-anchor not only of prior ritual and economic practices but customary social relations. Given this effort manifests build other arguments that integrate the experience of rupture and granted an explanatory horizon for the new context of exile; which occurs in connection with prior partial regularity. The case is related to the discussion of the ambivalent role of laws and the Mexican state, while should recognize both traditional governments and indigenous autonomy and freedom of religious expression.
