It is important to recognize how impact to psychosocial well-being and health aspects over the college student’s trajectory. This research aimed to recognize what university students understand about their experience at this stage. To achieve this goal, a qualitative phenomenological study was carried out, using the focus group technique 54 university students were interviewed; they were in different careers and semesters. Five experience’s categories emerged from the analysis: admission period to the university, adjustment to the college environment, psychosocial factors, academic factors and institutional resources. It is concluded that institutional role is important at this stage and can promote the welfare of its students.
