A critical analysis of two heterodox theories of inflation in Latin America (1960- 1990)
This paper provides a critical analysis of the theoretical underpinnings of two heterodox theories of inflation, the structuralist and inertialist theories of inflation. Both theories were developed as a response to the quantity theory. However, their analysis of inflation relies on market imperfections weakening their argument for an alternative theory of inflation.
