CAMPOS CORTES, Georgina Isabel y BRENNA BECERRIL, Jorge Eduardo. Repensando el espacio público social como un bien común urbano. Argumentos (Méx.) [online]. 2015, vol.28, n.77, pp.157-177. ISSN 0187-5795.
The most important common resource in cities is public space because every day is defined by the act and the daily use of citizens; and as the public space is not given, usually as a general good is something that must be built. That may come to constitute as a common and general public space as a space of consensus. This text is a theoretical essay about its conceptual and functional origin, its urban management actually applied in the context of the revitalization projects carried out in the area called the Historic Center of Mexico City as an urban element that exists for the common benefit. It seeks to explain the competition unfold citizens to reclaim the social space as a place of expression and demonstration without particular interest to legal ownership, but as the usufruct of a common good through which they struggle for the right for symbolic appropriation that comes from experience, of being, enjoy and make a profit; and, if at all possible, find a common place beyond politics and economics, or standards of decency and good taste to be participants and builders of these places of encounter with what is common in society: social relations.
