This research examines the distribution and dynamics of transition from innovation in Latin America for the period 2006-2017. The main objective of the paper is to know if the dynamic process of innovation in the region has a pattern that points to the convergence or if on the contrary it shows a heterogeneous behavior. Non-parametric techniques of growing acceptance as alternatives are used to study regional inequalities: Markov chains and the density Kernel functions. The results indicate that the development of innovation in the region is not homogeneous and in the long run the Latin American economies do not converge to a single stable equilibrium. The distribution in innovation efforts is polarized in the region.
