Reading and writing are essential competencies for life, being its development among learners one of the main objectives of education. The current context demands the configuration of educational practices oriented to teaching reading and writing using technological tools and digital services. Based on a document review procedure, the effect of ICT integration on the development of reading and writing skills in high school education students was analyzed in 22 scientific articles. It is assumed that the promotion of these skills is possible through the incorporation of technology in the teaching-learning process.
