Resumen
CASANUEVA REGUART, Cristina y RODRIGUEZ PEREZ, Cid-Alonso. La calidad de las condiciones de trabajo y su relación con la educación, género, región y exposición a la globalización en México. Región y sociedad [online]. 2009, vol.21, n.45, pp.3-44. ISSN 2448-4849.
The central argument of this study establishes that trade liberalization has transformed labor markets and modified the quality of working conditions. The pursuit of competitiveness and greater exposure of the Mexican economy to the effect of external shocks have changed the labor structure, thus damaging the operation and conditions of the labor market in terms of job quality. The temporal scope of the study comprises three cross cuts: 1992, 1999 and 2002. After more than 20 years of trade liberalization, the quality of working conditions are low, especially those related to wages and genuine representation of workers' interests. In addition, in cases where there was an improvement in the quality of work, such as access to training, there was a gender gap unfavorable to women.
