Anales de antropología is the official publication of the UNAM’s Institute for Anthropological Research (Instituto de Investigaciones Antropológicas), whose first issue was published in 1964. The journal is considered a tool for the national and international scientific communication dissemination. According to its editorial tradition, the journal publishes scientific works, critical and theoretical-methodological essays as well as bibliographic reviews in different areas of Anthropology including: Physical Anthropology, Archaeology, Ethnology and Linguistics.
