The work and knowledge of teacher educators for elementary education are topics that have been the object of little study. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to characterize the pedagogical knowledge of these educational actors upon teaching addition to preservice teachers. A multiple case study was carried out with three teacher educators teaching addition at a teachers' college in Mexico. The results show that their pedagogical knowledge is centered on promoting the reflection of preservice teachers on the processes of elementary students, and to make suggestions for teaching addition, as well as for the work of teaching in general. This research contributes as a referent for various decisions related to initial teacher training.
