Resumen
PERREN, Joaquín. Occupational mobility, family and city: A proposal for the study of migrations in Patagonia (Neuquén: 1960-1990). Pap. poblac [online]. 2013, vol.19, n.75, pp.93-135. ISSN 2448-7147.
This work intends to address the various elements that generated different opportunities to a group of families of migrants. On the one hand, we analyze the role that family, relatives and social relations had in what some authors called "urban integration cycle". On the other hand, we evaluate the importance of location in the urban fabric in the achievement of a rationality, able to take advantage of a social space which distributes opportunities, although they were not unlimited. The particularity of this study is not precisely the use of quantitative evidence, in this case demographic, but in the wish to step in front of a serial point of view. In our case, quantitative is the gateway to a set of social behaviors that were not necessarily uniform. Away from averages and general trends, our purpose is to reconstruct the full range of uses that migrants made of a stage that retraced a path of complexity.
