VAZQUEZ LUNA, Dinora y LARA RODRIGUEZ, Daniel Alejandro. Contrasting Perceptions as Analysis Indicators for Alternative Tourism: A Challenge for Sustainable Development in Veracruz, Mexico. El periplo sustentable [online]. 2018, n.34, pp.109-135. ISSN 1870-9036.
This paper conceives tourism from a systemic approach, with emphasis on sustainable development. The research was conducted in “Playa Linda” located in Pajapan, Veracruz. The aim was to analyze the contrasting perceptions of the main social agents involved in tourism (local merchants and tourists) as indicators of analysis to identify the type of potential alternative tourism in the zone. We conclude that contracting perceptions among stakeholders helped identify the type of alternative tourism to develop. The main challenge of sustainable rural development in areas with potential for alternative tourism was the analysis of indicators generated through the contrast between the perceptions of tourists and local merchants.
