ANGEL-LARA, Adalberto G Del y BRISENO-GARCIA, Arturo. Circular Economy on Carbon Emissions in Listed Companies. Investig. adm. [online]. 2024, vol.53, n.134, 00003. Epub 07-Dic-2024. ISSN 2448-7678. https://doi.org/10.35426/iav53n134.03.
The study aims to determine the impact of Circular Economy (CE) practices adopted by companies listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) on carbon emissions. The relationship between these variables has been scarcely explored, highlighting the originality of this research. Using a quantitative approach, we employ a multiple linear regression where carbon emissions are the dependent variable, and CE practices such as Reusing, Recycling, and Reducing act as independent variables. The results indicate that these CE practices positively influence the reduction of carbon emissions. Additionally, the findings suggest that carbon disclosure by these companies also contributes to the decrease in emissions. This cross-sectional analysis is based on data from the year 2020, which implies certain limitations as it does not allow for the observation of temporal trends in the identified effects.
